We must say, WE'RE VERY FLATTERED!

Ms. Babita, the Faculty in-charge of the Cultural Committee approached us to do a poster announcing the biggest college fest - '
Aakar' - in February. This big task was entrusted TO CAMEOZ!! (Talk about landing projects without lobbying!)

Apparently, people were highly impressed with the charts Cameoz made for our pet project -
Confluenz.

(Thank You! Hey, We're pretty proud of them too - Proud enough to decorate our bedroom walls with them!)

The club met in the college Art Room to discuss the said poster. We impulsively decided to make something BIGGER instead...

A dozen ideas burst forward, and were whetted down, mulled upon, polished and tweaked to perfection till we finally decided on an idea for a huge, lively chart.

(We still made several changes at the execution stage - that included getting the Guy shirtless and fitting him in
Converse shoes! So much for 'tweaked to perfection!')

One whole day (-and two whole nights!-) full of enthusiastic hard work later, we're proud to present the first Cameoz Chart for
Aakar! And even prouder to have it displayed prominently on the main college noticeboard at the entrance, specially dedicated to OUR chart!

All the hard work and sleepless nights are more than compensated when students compliment us!

It fills our hearts with pride to see our hardwork being appreciated, and taking center stage in the most visible notice board!

Check it OUT!!!

Cameoz Reads!

The Silence of the Lambs
Category : - Thriller

"You still wake up sometimes, don't you? Wake up in the iron dark with the lambs screaming?"
The above lines from the book 'The Silence of the Lambs' have sent shivers down the spines of readers, young and old.

It has even inspired major Hollywood motion pictures starring the likes of ANTHONY HOPKINS and JODIE FOSTER!!!.... aaaaaaaand since we know how much you are interested in these stars, we have no qualms about using their names here to glue your eyes to this page for the next 2 minutes!

After all - All's fair in love with books!

The Silence of the Lambs is a MUST read for horror buffs. The book, written by Thomas Harris, is the second in a series of three books - 'Red Dragon' and 'Hannibal' being the first and third respectively.

The Behavioral Science Division of the FBI seems to be fighting a losing battle in trying to catch a highly dangerous serial killer on the loose whose favorite targets are large women ;)

The one man who can provide a clue to the killer (if he can be made to do so) is Dr. Hannibal Lecter - gentleman, genius and a psychopathic, cannibalistic serial killer who's locked up in an asylum for the criminally insane!

Enter : Clarice Starling, a trainee investigator trying to trace the criminal by getting under the skin of the victims while forgetting the safety of her own....

Now, we'll leave it to you to find the rest of it.

Thomas Harris has an incomparable way of keeping you glued to the pages with his intricate character descriptions, especially that of the haunting Dr. Lecter also known as 'Hannibal, the Cannibal'.

We plunge unconsciously into the dark realms of criminal psychology and the even darker depths of good and evil at such a fast pace that it leaves the 'excit-o-meter' running wild.

This is a book you simply can't put down when you come across lines such as:
"His pulse never got over 85 even when he tore her tongue out"
This book is guaranteed to keep you hooked till the last and will leave you yearning for more, although in some cases it may ruffle some vegetarian sensibilities.

Here's one pure, absolutely scary thriller which will give you goosebumps at the least, and a couple of sleepless nights at the most.

Check it out!

Behold! The centerpiece of all our recent action! The Cameoz notice board...! The only rectangular object nailed to a wall in college that grabs anyone's attention!
It was fun putting stuff up! If anyone thought there's only so much a noticeboard can hold, they need to see this one! (2nd floor. Opposite library. Pronto!)
We don't think the college staff gets it... but the charts sticking out of the noticeboard strikes them as an abnormality. We call it "Extra-inordinary"! The first day, we had a lot of trouble trying to keep the thing in it's intended skewed position, somebody or the other would try to "fix" that 'abnormality'!
Maybe they need to read our pet motto..
"If you think the sky's the limit, then you're thinking's very limited!"
Some seriously limited thinking there! But here's a real gem from one bemused junior - "What macha! HOW can your thinking be limited? What nonsense!"
ROTFL!

After a lot of tedious scrutinizing of all the Creative Writing entries, we are REJECTING ALL THE ENTRIES!

Don't blame us! We made it very clear that we were looking for CREATIVE writing.

Most of you have submitted what we believe was an attempt at essays. Not even 2 shots each of
strong espresso at Cafe Coffee Day could keep us awake through all that!

To be fair, Umakant( We'll call him Jim, to protect his identity) made us laugh for all the wrong reasons.

Jim, however, couldn't get past our strict judging parameters despite all that freakish entertainment!

We've contemplated putting that entry on all the noticeboards, and distributing them as flyers during assemblies... but we had to settle for this blog. (Watch this space!)

We felt that Vikash, from 3rd B.Com DID make an honest attempt. But in the absence of any eligible competition - we couldn't give him a place.

On the bright side, the Poets did create their magic. The girl who wrote about her Romance made us fall in love all over again (and again and again, every time we re-read it).

Another entry about Squirrels (SquArrels, if her spelling is to be believed) and nuts... made our minds wander a lot. But it was interesting.

The Literary Art entries were... mind boggling. We honestly didn't know which to choose, and which to reject. In our elated minds, they ALL seemed to be winners!

The Chosen ones, however shall be displayed on the Cameoz Noticeboard (it's the near the library, schmucks!)

We have very deserving winners on Poetry, which will be announced on the Cameoz Noticeboard too.

Finally, the event that fills our hearts with unbridled pride -
Chaoz! -The Treasure Hunt! If we could afford it, we'd buy each one of the winners a Porsche! But let's see how much we can loosen our purse-strings on this.

Confluenz 2

What a week it’s been! We’re simply overwhelmed! We’d promised to ‘enthrall, enchant and mesmerize’ you with Confluenz. For once, you guys totally outclassed us… and left us shocked, stunned and bewildered!

What an amazing response it’s been to Confluenz – the Literary Day v2.0! Take a bow, Presidency. You put all our calculations to shame, beat all our wildest expectations and had us gasping for breath! That massive flood of entries sent all our schedules haywire and left us in a tizzy!

Picasso seems to have caught everyone’s fancy. The game caught on like a wildfire… We got inundated with so many entries that - against our will - we HAD TO stop registering new entrants!

Even the painstakingly-made schedule that you ripped apart couldn’t accommodate EVERYONE. We’re sorry! You guys were just too many!

Turncoat saw some excellent points being made, on a platform that Cameoz is very proud to have been able to provide!

Not in our most far-flung fancy did we imagine that there’d be so many takers for Mock’in’ Interview. We got 2 sheets full of participants. Where were we going to accommodate all of them?

Don’t even ask us about Spin-A-Yarn. For the first time in our club history, we actually had to cancel something we’d spend so much time preparing. Just because of the sheer number of the entries that a one-day event couldn’t possibly accommodate!

The number of Creative Writing and Poetry Writing entries we received has more than doubled this time.

What’s our pick of the day? Chaoz!- The Treasure Hunt!

It was our version of the game that had contestants flex all their mental and physical muscles, in one thrilling roller coaster ride! The extremely closely pitched battle between the B.Sc team and the BCA team, followed closely by the B.Com and BBM teams gave us a lifetime’s worth of adrenaline rush! The B.Sc team won in the end in a hair-raising, nail-biting climax! Congratulations! We never thought any living human could break all those clues… or perform those crazy tasks! You guys were simply awesome!

Thanks to you, our first attempt at a Treasure Hunt game was a humongous success!

As the entries flooded in, we had to mercilessly strike off - one by one - the band performance, skits, audience games and even the DJ. We didn’t even have time to accommodate a few minutes of music!

Despite our event schedule being shredded to pieces, and all the heartbreak we had to endure at canceling our painstakingly designed events – we still thank you for participating in Confluenz!! You kept us on our toes!

We thank the wonderful Judges – Ms. Nitika, Ms. Reshmi, and Ms. Babitha for generously taking upon themselves the arduous task of choosing the winners!

We also offer our most heartfelt gratitude towards all the volunteers – Aflal and Sumit for staying up entire nights designing all those creative posters - without a single utter of complaint, Roshan and Nikki who were game to the unenviable and enormous task of facing the onslaught of mass registrations, Naveen, who made the MC’s job a walk-in-the park by efficiently and effortlessly ironing out all the backstage glitches, Abhilasha, Nischala , Shreeja, Harsha and Shweta, for the generous and enthusiastic help in painting and designing the banners. Thank you all for all the zillion small things that can’t possibly be recounted here. We also thank all the participants who waited patiently for the whole day, only to see their event put off. Their good-natured understanding touched us in a big way. We promise we won’t let you down again!

A big ‘Thank You’ is due to Ms. Yvonne Rasquinha, the Principal, for putting her faith in us. Madam, we shall always strive to live up to your expectations of us!

Our one major regret about the day was the inability to have the entire college take part as an audience. The contestants deserved a standing ovation for their commendable performances. Hopefully, next time we won’t let down a single participant… and with your undying support, make Confluenz even bigger!
